Tractor Mechanic

Tiverton | £15-£19 per hour + Overtime (Time and a Half) | Full-Time | Permanent | Potential Earnings £40,000-£53,000

Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is excited to be recruiting a Tractor Mechanic on behalf of a well-established and growing agricultural business in the Tiverton area. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced mechanic looking to work with a dynamic team, carrying out varied mechanical work both in the workshop and out in the field.

Due to continued customer growth and expansion, we're seeking a self-motivated individual who thrives working independently and is eager to further develop their technical skills.

Working Hours

Winter: Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm | Saturday, 8am - 12pm
Summer: Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 5:30pm | Saturday, 7:30am - 1pm
Contracted Hours: 42.5 per week

Key Responsibilities

• Fault-finding and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in agricultural machinery.

• Performing routine maintenance, including lubrication, oil changes, and inspections.

• Replacing or repairing defective parts using hand and power tools.

• Servicing machinery at correct intervals and ensuring all equipment is in safe working order.

• Fabricating or modifying parts where required.

• Keeping accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and parts used.

• Adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.

• Planning and prioritising workload to ensure customer machinery is ready when needed.

Requirements

• City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in vehicle repair and maintenance preferred, or proven relevant experience.

• Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic knowledge.

• Previous experience in agricultural machinery, plant machinery, HGV, or similar industries.

• Experience with CNH products and agricultural equipment advantageous.

• Forklift licence beneficial but not essential.

• Excellent hourly rate of £15.00-£19.00 per hour (reviewed after probation).
