Asphalt Plant Supervisor

Neath | Market leading pay rates | 47.5 hours per week | Monday-Sunday (day and night shifts) | Permanent | Immediate Start


Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting an Asphalt Plant Supervisor for a family-run business in Neath. You will be responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient operation of the asphalt plant, ensuring compliance, productivity, and quality standards are maintained. This role requires a proactive approach, strong leadership, and a commitment to safety and operational excellence.


Key Duties:
  • Manage and coordinate daily production activities.

  • Ensure all permits of work, risk assessments, and safe systems of work are completed.

  • Oversee safe discharge of bitumen and filler deliveries.

  • Chair site safety committee meetings and action any points raised.

  • Complete daily plant inspections and ensure operator records are accurate.

  • Ensure compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and Quarry Regulations 1999.

  • Deliver toolbox talks, daily briefings, and site inductions.

  • Monitor and maintain plant efficiency and production schedules.

  • Oversee maintenance tasks, troubleshoot issues, and carry out root cause analysis on breakdowns.

  • Ensure adherence to quality control measures and QUESH inspections.

  • Manage raw material levels and stock control reporting.

  • Support budgetary control for the plant and monitor site spend.

  • Produce and report monthly KPI and performance data.

  • Liaise with management to deliver operational and safety targets.

  • Operate fixed and mobile plant as required to support site operations.


Requirements:
  • Good knowledge of asphalt processes.

  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel and Outlook.

  • Valid driving licence.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

  • Qualifications and certifications including:

    • FEL, Telehandler and associated attachments.

    • Manual Handling Certificate.

    • First Aid Certificate.

    • SHE NVQ Level 4 / QCF Level 6.

    • IOSH certification.

  • Working knowledge of risk assessments, safe systems of work, and site planning constraints.

  • Ability to multitask and adapt to change.

  • Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends.
