Industrial Jet Washer

Honiton | £29,000+ per annum | 45 hours per week + overtime | Permanent | UK-wide travel required

Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for an Industrial Jet Washer to join the Environmental Services Division in Honiton. This is a varied and rewarding role, working across a wide range of industries, including cement works, oil refineries, sewage treatment plants, and Royal Navy vessels.

All operatives receive full training to carry out tasks safely, with strict health & safety procedures in place. Flexibility is key, as work may include nights, weekends, and travel to customer sites.

Key Duties:

• Carry out industrial cleaning operations to a high standard in line with company H&S procedures.
• General site cleaning, repairs, and maintenance.
• Scheduled plant cleaning during shutdowns.
• Pollution control and spill response.
• High-pressure water jetting and cold cutting using hydro-cutting equipment (additional training provided if required).
• Confined space work, including tank and sewer cleaning (may require breathing apparatus).
• Rescue team duties (with specialist training).
• Complete daily/weekly work records, timesheets, and relevant documentation.
• Drive and maintain vans, jet vac lorries, and trailers (Cat B+E licence required).
• Ensure all vehicles remain clean and roadworthy.
• Communicate effectively with clients regarding tasks and health & safety issues.

Requirements:

• Class 2 Licence (ability to drive both van and Jet Vac lorry).
• Experience using high-pressure water jetting equipment.
• Confined space training (City & Guilds 6150-03 preferred).
• CSCS card, CCNSG, or similar safety passport.
• Emergency First Aid qualification (First Aid at Work for rescue duties).
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently.
• Physically fit and able to work in confined spaces (medical assessment required).
• Willingness to travel and work nights/weekends as required.

Desirable:

• Cat B+E licence for van/trailer combinations.
• IPAF, PASMA, and National Water Hygiene Card.
• Experience in oil refineries, petrochemical plants, or related industries.
