Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for an NVQ-qualified Industrial Electrical Engineer to join our client's operations in Devon. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer to provide electrical support for key fixed plant and equipment at Devon Ball Clays operations, ensuring maximum plant availability and reliability.


Key Duties

  • Provide electrical support for all key fixed plant and equipment.
  • Carry out planned, scheduled, routine, and reactive maintenance, including fault finding, diagnostics, and rectification work.
  • React quickly to unplanned downtime to minimise production loss and improve equipment efficiency.
  • Deliver sustenance and improvement projects and CER equipment installations.
  • Work safely and in full compliance with company rules, procedures, and relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation.

Requirements

  • Recognised electrical or multi-skilled indentured apprenticeship, qualified to NVQ Level 3.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • Experience of electrical systems maintenance within an industrial operations environment.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Knowledge of PLCs and Variable Speed Drives is advantageous.
  • Flexible, self-reliant, and able to work as part of a small team or independently.
  • Positive attitude, with the ability to work under pressure and take ownership of tasks.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience working in a production environment.
  • Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Mechanical cross-skilling and experience.
  • Experience with mobile plant or light vehicles.
