Mobile Plant Operator

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting Mobile Plant Operators for a leading engineering company offering travel-based work across the UK. Based out of Andover, this role is ideal for someone looking for variety, independence, and long-term career development.

The Role:

• Operate and maintain mobile processing equipment at various UK sites.
• Work a 10-days on / 4-days off shift pattern, including alternate weekends.
• Travel and overnight stays required (accommodation and expenses covered).
• Drive a company van provided as part of the role.
• Support on-site installations and assist service engineers as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, operate, monitor, and optimise high-speed mobile machinery.
• Set up and adjust equipment based on site requirements.
• Supervise and mentor subcontractors or junior team members (once trained).
• Follow all safety procedures including Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
• Accurately complete all associated documentation.

The Person:

• Experience operating mechanical and/or electrical plant.
• Capable of working independently and safely, often at remote sites.
• Flexible to meet customer demands - including shift work and night shifts.
• Effective communicator with a strong customer focus.
• Organised, self-motivated, and keen to learn and develop further.
• Full UK manual driving licence required (clean preferred).
• Forklift and/or Telehandler licence desirable (not essential).
• Background in the water or process industry an advantage but not required.

What's On Offer:

• Salary: £25,500 starting, increasing to £31,000 after objectives met.
• OTE: Up to £43,000+ per year (12-hour shifts).
• Overtime: Paid at 1.5x (Mon-Sat) and 2x (Sun & Bank Holidays) after 85 hours per fortnight.
• Shift Pattern: 10 days on / 4 days off (with alternating weekends).
