Mobile Plant Operator

Acorn by Synergie is seeking a Mobile Plant Operator to join a market-leading engineering business. Based out of Corby, this is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and reliable individual to take on a hands-on, varied role involving travel across the UK, with up to 10 nights away at a time.

The Role:

• Operate and maintain mobile processing equipment at various sites across the UK.
• Work on a 10 days on / 4 days off shift pattern (typically 6:00am - 6:00pm).
• Travel and overnight stays required - all expenses, van, and accommodation covered.
• Support with installation, servicing, and operation of high-performance machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and optimise mobile plant machinery to meet performance standards.
• Assist Service Engineers both on site and in the workshop.
• Carry out equipment assembly/disassembly and routine maintenance.
• Supervise and train others once fully trained yourself.
• Follow Risk Assessments and Method Statements.

The Person:

• Experience operating plant or processing equipment (mechanical/electrical understanding).
• Able to work independently and manage tasks at remote or client sites.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing shift patterns and customer requirements.
• Excellent communicator, customer-focused, and confident under pressure.
• Self-motivated and proactive in learning and development.

Requirements:

• Valid UK manual driving licence (clean preferred).
• Willingness to work away from home for up to 10 days per shift cycle.
• Forklift and/or telehandler licence desirable but not essential.
• Process industry experience is an advantage but not required.

Pay & Hours:

• Shift pattern: 10 days on / 4 days off.
• Base salary: Starting at £25,500, rising to £31,000 upon objective completion.
• OTE: Up to £43,000+ per year based on 12-hour shifts and overtime.
• Overtime: Paid at 1.5x (Mon-Sat) and 2x (Sundays & Bank Holidays) after 85 hours per fortnight.
