<p><strong>The Geraint Thomas Cycling Trust is looking for Trustees</strong><br /><br />Geraint Thomas is a 2018 Tour De France winner and double Olympic champion! He is a Welsh hero who dreamt BIG as he famously said on the Champs-Élysées whilst wearing the yellow jersey. <br /><br />The Geraint Thomas Cycling Trust was launched in October 2021 and is actively supporting children aged from 7-18 years-old access sustainable and consistent cycling opportunities across England and Wales. By 2031, we are aiming to help 5000 children to experience the sport which has given Geraint so much. <br /><br />The Trust is now looking to recruit additional Trustees to support their work but is also interested if people wish to be involved in working groups as friends of the Trust. <br /><br /><strong>How can you help us to change young people's lives?</strong><br /><br />The Trust recognises that there are many barriers to entry into cycling, making it more difficult for individuals to engage with the sport at a local amateur level. These barriers include high cost of entry (expensive to buy bikes / accessories), low volumes of facilities aside from the road are spread out geographically, greater volumes of volunteer support are required and the diversity of cycling needs to be widened.<br /><br />The Trust that has been founded to operate a grants programme, providing a package of support to eligible beneficiaries. Our vision is that every young person can get involved in cycling no matter what their background! <br /><br /><strong>Trustees</strong><br /><br />We have created a Board of Trustees that now requires additional support and contribution to ensure we have the right balance of skills and experience to take the next step forward past our launch. <p>The Welsh Judo Association (WJA) is the National Governing Body for judo in Wales. Our aim is to create better people for a better society.</p>
<p>We currently have vacancies for two new INEDs and would welcome applications from those who have experience and skillsets in the following areas:</p>

<p>The Welsh Judo Association (WJA) is a Private Company, Limited by guarantee and its purpose is to act as the National Governing Body for the sport of judo in Wales. In doing so, it seeks to:</p>

<li>Promote Judo throughout Wales.</li>
<li>Provide to the Members, services, advice and assistance in connection with Judo.</li>
<li>Provide and promote Judo related education, training and other services to Members, organisations, and the public in Wales.</li>
<li>Do all other things that are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above objectives.</li>

<p>This is accepted to be on an 'as available' basis and is therefore not specified as a specific number of events/days. <br>WJA Commissions and Committees - Board Directors may have an involvement in these and could be responsible for developing and coordinating specific areas of the association's business. It is not however, mandated that a Director should Chair these.</p>

<div><strong>QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED - ESSENTIAL<br><br></strong>

<li>Experience working at a senior level within an organisation, working at Board level or similar to make strategic decisions.</li>
<li>Professional qualifications or experience in key business areas for Tennis Wales such as <em>Welsh education system, equality diversity and inclusion. </em></li>
<li>Excellent communication skills, working with other Board members, stakeholder, funding partners and colleagues in the organisation.</li>
<li>An understanding of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of being a company director.</li>

Independent Non-Executive Director

<p><strong>Street Football Wales is looking for new trustees to join its board.</strong> Our trustees work to support the organisation to realise its vision of a fair and inclusive Wales, where everyone can achieve their full potential through the transformative power of football.</p>
<p>We do this through the creation of safe and welcoming spaces where everyone can experience the joy of football. We believe in the power of the game to bring fun and fulfilment to all, regardless of background or ability. Through football, we promote personal growth and the development of healthy inclusive communities where every individual matters and is valued.</p>
<p>Trustees set the strategic direction, oversee the work of the organisation, manage risk, and establish policies and procedures to govern organisational activity. Key to the role is ensuring good governance practice is in place. It's an exciting time to join the board, as Street Football Wales has consolidated its growth since becoming a charity, and is exploring further opportunities for development with the creation of a new three year strategy.</p>
<p><strong>About you</strong></p>
<p>Committed to sport for social good, you'll have the ability to think strategically and creatively, and to respond to the needs of the organisation. You'll also be able to commit the time to fulfil the role of trustee and help us meet our strategic objectives and demonstrate impact.</p>
<p>Street Football Wales is strongly committed to equality, and recognises that diverse boards are more effective, and result in better governance practice.</p>
<p>We also value the importance and the lived experience of people who have an awareness of the street football journey as a previous participant, and are able to provide this valuable insight and understanding. <br>Knowledge or an understanding of the Welsh language is desirable but not essential.</p>

<p>As part of this process, we are looking for Trustees who could also occupy the following key roles:</p>

<li>Chairperson</li>
<li>Secretary</li>
</ul>
<p><br><strong>Expectations</strong></p>
<p>There are six scheduled Trustee meetings a year plus an AGM, held place bi-monthly and are blended: so you can attend online or in person. Each meeting normally lasts two hours. In addition, Street Football Wales holds several additional events such as four inclusion-based football tournaments across Wales which Trustees can attend, if able.</p>
<p>There are also four network events where we bring Trustees, partners and stakeholders together support the work of the charity, such as through fundraising or awareness raising. <br><br><strong>To Apply</strong></p>
