Job description

Acorn by Synergie is currently recruiting a Quality Engineer for our client, an innovative manufacturer, to join their expanding team in North Devon.

General scope of the role

To provide quality assurance support to customers, suppliers, partners and internal manufacturing lines and participate in continuous improvement activities ensure products meet established industry standards, government regulations and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Support production and engineering with Quality related tasks, including measurement (including CMM, Vision & manual equipment), inspection, release of product, development and implementation of new skills and techniques in measurement
  • Production of measurement reports in the form of FAIR, ISIR, PPAP and/or other methods
  • Product testing in accordance with customer requirements.
  • Working to specifications and prescribed systems in accordance with company, customer, legal and regulatory requirements
  • Manage calibration in accordance with the company calibration system.
  • Support the Quality team regarding non-conformity management or other Quality Management tasks when required.
  • Ensure all areas of responsibility operate within the requirements of AS9100 & ISO9001.
  • Work with the Quality team and wider business to identify and support implementation of improvements.
  • Support a Quality driven culture where everybody understands the need to deliver products and services right first time.

Experience and Skills

  • Strong understanding of GD&T and ability to interpret complex technical drawings and CAD models.
  • Experience in CMM measurement, working knowledge of PC-DMIS or Aberlink including programming an advantage.
  • Practical experience in use of mechanical measurement equipment.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management System, AS9100 an advantage.
