Our Public Sector Client is looking for an experienced Category Manager to join their team looking after approximately £30m worth of spend and reponsible for 3 members of staff. The role is hybrid with 1-2 days per week in the office, although you may want to go there more often to take advantage of the free, fully equipped onsite gym or the games room complete with pool tables. The role also comes with other great benefits including flexible hours and 27% employee pension contributions.
This position will deal with a variety of categories although the largest spend will be within Tech including hardware. Any experience in Tech procurement would be advantageous but not essential.
As you would expect, an important part of your role will be negotiating with suppliers to ensure you get the best combination of cost, quality, and added services such a warranties. Therefore you will need to have great communication skills to be able to effectively liaise with both internal and external stakeholders.
If you are already CIPS qualified this will be of benefit but my client is also able to support someone with relevant experience to study for and obtain CIPS.
